Lake Harriet Spiritual Community (LHSC) is an independent non-profit spiritual organization.

We are a cohesive group of like minded individuals with a variety of Spiritual and Religious beliefs, who come together to celebrate as a community under a main guideline of empowering beliefs.

Our Ministerial Guides, elected by the membership, alternate Sunday Services and facilitate on-going classes.

Members are encouraged to actively participate in LHSC by creating Sunday morning Community Services and through developing new circles to further expand our spiritual practices. Community Circles throughout the week provide additional rituals and services, these include but are not limited to Solstice celebrations and on-going drumming and healing circles. We are an open community center and membership is not required to attend classes, events or to rent space at LHSC.

The Nature of Spirit

We believe in a Divine Spirit whose essence is the life energy of love that creates, forms and directs the universe.

THEREFORE:

• We open ourselves to the presence and power of the Divine Intention in all our actions.
• We trust that there is a plan and a purpose to everything and that the evolution of the planet is unfolding perfectly.
• We honor and respect all creation.
• We consider Love to be the greatest value.

The Inherent Value of All Belief Systems

We believe that Spirit has inspired people around the world, and that all-sacred belief systems express facets of the Truth.

THEREFORE:

• We honor all sacred belief systems.
• We follow truth, wherever we find it.

Our Relationship to Spirit

We believe that each of us is a unique, integrated manifestation of a loving, Divine Spirit which creates us, pervades us, and emanates from us.

THEREFORE:

• We trust that we are completely and utterly cared for (We trust in the nurturing embrace of spirit).
• We recognize our own divinity.
• We love ourselves.

Our Relationship to Each Other

We believe that we are all one Spirit, integrally tied together through love with all creation.

THEREFORE:

• We recognize the divinity of others.
• We express our thoughts, words, and actions from the heart.
• We accept one another’s personal worth, values, and gifts as unique expressions of the One.
• We acknowledge that what we see in others is a mirror for our own growth.
• We love others as ourselves.
• We act as stewards for the Earth.

Our Individual Purpose on Earth

We believe that we are evolving beings, each with a unique purpose which is fulfilled by becoming conscious of Spirit’s voice and aligning with Spirit’s direction.

THEREFORE:

• We acknowledge that all things happen to us for a reason.
• We acknowledge our ability to let go of our self-made limitations.
• We recognize the value of our own gifts.
• We accept our ability and our responsibility to co-create the future.

Our Purpose as a Community

We believe that we are called together to share our gifts and to assist in the evolution of each other and the planet for the greatest good of all.

THEREFORE:

• We intentionally co-create a welcoming, playful and nurturing environment.
• We recognize the gifts each person brings complete our community.
• We freely share our unique gifts.
• We support one another as we face our individual and collective challenges.
• We are forthright and clear about our intentions.
• We let go of individual agendas and seek the harmonious growth of the community.
• We all have a responsibility to participate in the success of the community as a whole.
